Growing up, I always wanted to play college football. Every Saturday I would go to my football games and go straight home to watch college football. Not knowing the guys I’m looking up to are working this hard but not getting paid at all. My dream as a kid was to start varsity for my high school, and getting a D-1 offer so my mom didn’t have to pay for me to go to college. Like I didn’t care where it was I just wanted people to come watch me to play on Saturdays and be on TV. When I got to high school finally starting varsity my sophomore year doing pretty good. Didn’t start playing really dominating until my junior year, where I start getting offers coming in. Still not knowing how hard they are really working and struggling. Because every time you go on a visit, they make it seem like everything is wonderful, you’re going to have a time of your life. They give you so much free time. Saying all of this just to get you to go there. When I finally came to Ball State to play, it was terrible. Never really had free time, always busy with classes and football everyday.

Working like we have a career job, not getting paid. It was just miserable. Then struggling to eat after they last meal they feed you which is lunch and then trying to go out and buy the things you want like clothes and groceries. Then knowing they are making millions of dollars off the athletes. This is why I think we should get paid.
